Joining the AX 2015 guest line-up, Thomas Romain of Satelight is best known for his mechanical design on Space Dandy, and LeSean Thomas, recently spearheaded the Cannon Busters: The Animated Series Pilot Kickstarter.
Together, LeSean Thomas and Thomas Romain will present a panel with updates about Cannon Busters, including a first-look at the project and Q&A. They will also both be participating in autograph sessions throughout the weekend.

Thomas Romain is a Tokyo-based French animation artist. After graduating from Gobelins l’Ecole de l’Image in 2002, he co-created the anime-inspired show Code Lyoko which was broadcast on Cartoon Network (2003-2007). He then moved to Japan to co-direct the French-Japanese TV series Oban Star-racers (2006), which caught the eye of Shoji Kawamori, director at Satelight animation studio. Kawamori then offered Romain a position as a key member at Satelight. Together, they co-developed an original TV animated series called Basquash! (2009). From there, Romain formed a team of French creators to handle the design works of various titles including Aquarion EVOL, Bodacious Space Pirates, Croisée in a Foreign Labyrinth, AKB0048, and Symphogear. More recently, he designed the spaceships of Space Dandy, which has made his name widely known.
South Bronx NYC native, LeSean Thomas is a television animation producer, director, and illustrator operating out of Los Angeles, California. He is the creator, writer, and director of Cannon Busters: The Animated Series Pilot, which is based on the creator-owned comic book of the same name. Thomas is working with Japanese animation studio Satelight, to release the Cannon Busters pilot in fall/winter 2015. Recently, Thomas spent several years working abroad in South Korea as an animation production/storyboard artist, honing his skills and developing Cannon Busters while lending his talent to hit shows. He is driven by his passion and enthusiasm for animation production and enjoys sharing his knowledge with the animation and art community online. Drawing from Western and Eastern influences, Thomas’s work displays a level of stylistic expression and dynamism that makes him highly distinguishable among his peers.
LeSean Thomas has contributed to television animation in the United States for over 10 years. His most notable works include Peabody Award-winning series The Boondocks on Adult Swim serving as Co-Director (Season 1) and Supervising Character Designer (Seasons 1 & 2), Nickelodeon’s The Legend Of Korra (Book 1) as a storyboard/production artist, and most recently Black Dynamite: The Animated Series as Creative Producer (Season 1) and Supervising Director (Seasons 1 & 2) on Adult Swim.
