On behalf of the entire SPJA and Anime Expo family, we wanted to thank you for your continued patience and understanding during these times of uncertainty. We know that the last two years have been both frustrating and difficult, but throughout every hurdle and setback we have experienced, we have also been reminded of how important the Anime Expo community is not only to us, but to each of you as well.
As you may or may not know, every year over 1,300 people volunteer to help Anime Expo run smoothly, and we wouldn’t be here 31 years later (!) without every single one of you. That’s why we are so excited to finally be returning to an in-person show this year, and we’re sure that many of you are just as excited to finally reunite with your convention family.
On that note, we wanted to take this opportunity to introduce a new member of the Anime Expo volunteer family: our new Volunteer Resources Consultant, April Cognito! April is an experienced, veteran consultant who is looking forward to taking our already fantastic volunteer program to even new heights this year. And, speaking of which…applications for volunteer positions are now open! We encourage you to apply and send this application to friends who may be interested in joining our volunteer team.
With that said, we also understand that many of you may be hesitant to return to a large in-person event, and we want to assure you that the SPJA is working with the city of Los Angeles and taking every precaution to create a safe and healthy environment for every volunteer and convention attendee.
We look forward to finally seeing you again in person soon to celebrate our (belated) 30th Anniversary and beyond!
Best,
Anime Expo
